Yields: 1x 150mL Jar
Ingredients:
Dry Ingredients:
- 6 tbsp white kaolin clay
- 3 tbsp dead sea clay
- 2 tbsp rhassoul clay
- 1 tbsp marshmallow root powder
- 10-20 drops essential oils* (see below for suggestions)
Wet Ingredients (for each mask application):
- Approx. 2 tsp liquid (such as purified water, aloe vera gel, hydrosol, or vitamin C serum)
Instructions:
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the white kaolin clay, dead sea clay, rhassoul clay, and marshmallow root powder until well combined.
- Add Essential Oils: Stir in 10-20 drops of your chosen skin-friendly essential oils (as seen below) and blend well.
- Jar the Mask: Pour the dry mask mixture into a 150mL jar, seal, and label for easy storage. This is your dry mask powder.
- Mix the Mask Before Use: When ready to use, scoop about 2 teaspoons of the dry mask powder into a small bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of your liquid of choice, and mix until a smooth paste forms.
- Apply the Mask: Apply the mixture to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for as long as you like. To prevent drying, keep the mask damp by spritzing your face with a hydrosol or water.
- Remove & Moisturize: After the mask has dried (or after your preferred time), gently remove it with a warm damp cloth. Follow with toner and moisturizer.
Tips:
Add Color & Scent: For a colourful twist and a natural scent, swap 1 tbsp of rhassoul clay for 1 tbsp ground hibiscus flowers. Be sure to grind the hibiscus flowers finely using a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder.
* Essential Oils for Face: Choose soothing essential oils such as rose, lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, or geranium, which are ideal for facial use.
