Hydrating & Naturally Scented
This Refreshing Vegan Lip Balm is the ultimate combination of hydrating oils and natural waxes to keep your lips soft, smooth, and protected from the winter chill.
Featuring nourishing apricot and jojoba oils, plus a vegan alternative to beeswax - candelilla wax, this balm locks in moisture while shielding your lips. Flavoured with a delightful blend of vanilla, spearmint, and peppermint, it’s the perfect stocking stuffer or homemade gift for the holiday season.
Yields: Approx. 9 Lip Balm Tubes
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp (24 g) apricot oil
- 2 tbsp (20 g) jojoba oil
- 2 tbsp (16 g) candelilla wax
- 10 drops Medicine Flower Vanilla Flavouring
- 5 drops spearmint essential oil
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
Optional:
- 4 drops liquid stevia (for a sweetened flavour)
Instructions:
- Melt the Ingredients: In a double boiler, combine apricot oil, jojoba oil, and candelilla wax. Heat gently until the wax melts completely. Stir occasionally to combine the oils and wax.
- Add Flavour & Scent: Once the oils are fully melted and incorporated, remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla flavouring, spearmint essential oil, peppermint essential oil, and liquid stevia (if using).
- Pour Into Tubes: Carefully pour the melted mixture into lip balm tubes. For easy pouring, transfer the mixture to a liquid measuring cup with a spout.
- Cool & Cap: Allow the lip balm to cool completely before capping the tubes. Wipe away any excess balm with a cloth or paper towel.
Tips:
Customize the Flavour: Adjust the amount of essential oils to suit your personal taste. For a more intense mint flavour, add an extra drop of peppermint essential oil.
Easy Storage: Store your homemade lip balms in a cool, dry place to prevent them from melting.
