Found across the northern hemisphere, these brambly plants are known for their flexible canes, fine thorns, soft blossoms, and familiar summer fruit. The deeply veined green leaves are harvested when the plants are young, before flowers or fruit appear, capturing the plant in its early, leafy stage.
When brewed, the leaves offer a mild, pleasant taste that is earthy and green, with a clean, simple character unlike the fruit itself. Appearing in traditional plant lore since ancient times, they hold a steady place in both North American and European traditions, shaped by hedgerows, fields, and woodland edges where raspberry plants naturally thrive.
