Peppermint is a cultivated mint shaped through centuries of careful growing, likely beginning in Europe where milder wild mints were long gathered for household use. Early mentions of mint appear in ancient texts, though these describe gentler plants than the richly aromatic Peppermint known today. Through repeated selection, growers gradually developed a plant with a sharper scent and clearer character. Peppermint is a hardy perennial with square stems, pointed green leaves, and small violet flowers, thriving in moist soils and partial sun.
In the cup, Peppermint releases a bright, clean aroma and a clear, cooling taste. The infusion is smooth and lively, finishing crisp and familiar.
