The higher the UMF grading number on the product,. thehigher the concentration of signature compounds found in mānuka honey.
MGO Content: Methylglyoxal (MGO) is formed in the honey from DHA, an ingredient found in mānuka nectar. This compound is responsible for some of mānuka honey's unique properties and forms the basis of the UMF grading system. The higher the MGO number, the higher the grade of mānuka honey.
