Viscous and sticky, castor oil is highly occlusive and particularly popular in skin and hair care recipes. Locks in moisture. Castor's unique properties make it too strong to be used neat; sensitization may occur, so dilution with a less potent oil (such as almond or jojoba) is highly recommended.
