Powerful and resilient, this small shrub grows in the dry regions of India, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East, spreading low to the ground with soft green leaves and small red berries enclosed in papery husks, which give rise to the name Winter Cherry. Gathered and cultivated for centuries, Ashwagandha remains an established crop in its native regions.
In recent years, Ashwagandha has become widely known beyond its home regions as interest in single-herb teas has expanded. Steeped in hot water, the root yields a muted amber cup with an earthy aroma and a robust, mildly bitter taste with subtle grain-like notes.

- Quick Brew Directions: Pour freshly boiled water over tea bags in your chosen mug, cover, and steep 5 to 7 minutes.
- Full Strength (decoction) Directions: When dried, Ashwagandha root is very tough ~ it needs to be gently simmered for maximum strength. Use a stainless pot and stainless or wooden utensils. Use one tea bag per cup of water, cover and bring to a gentle boil briefly, then turn down the heat and simmer for 10–20 minutes. Extra tea can be stored in a sealed glass jar for a day or two in the refrigerator.
Ingredients: Organic Ashwagandha Root (Withania somnifera).
