DIY Lip Scrub
Get Smooth, Kissable Lips in Minutes
Give your lips the love they deserve this season with our deliciously sweet. This simple, natural recipe is designed to gently exfoliate and smooth rough skin, leaving your lips soft, hydrated, and perfectly prepped for anything — whether it's a holiday kiss or just a little self-care.
Yields: 1 (20mL) circular container
Ingredients:
- ¼ tsp beeswax
- 1 tsp castor oil
- 1 tsp sesame seed oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (or raw cane sugar for a coarser scrub)
Directions:
- Melt the Beeswax: Begin by melting the beeswax over low heat in a double boiler. If you don't have a double boiler, place a metal measuring cup with a spout into a pot filled halfway with water. Stir occasionally until fully melted.
- Add Oils: Once the beeswax is melted, remove it from heat and stir in the castor oil and sesame oil. Mix well to combine.
- Sweeten the Scrub: Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add in the brown sugar (or raw cane sugar if you prefer a more exfoliating scrub). Stir until fully incorporated.
- Package the Scrub: Using a spatula, carefully pour the mixture into your 20mL container. Close the lid tightly, and label your scrub if desired.
Tips for a Custom Lip Scrub:
Brown Sugar vs. Raw Cane Sugar: The type of sugar you choose will affect the texture of your scrub.
Brown sugar creates a smoother, softer scrub, while raw cane sugar offers a more textured scrub with larger granules that exfoliate deeper for a more intense polish. Choose based on your skin's sensitivity and exfoliating preference.
Scent Add-ins: Want to personalize your lip scrub? Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil!
We like peppermint for a refreshing zing, or lavender for a calming, soothing scent.
