Ingredients
Container: 60ml jar
- 25 g (2 Tbsp) jojoba oil
- 10 g (1 Tbsp) camellia oil
- 10 g (1 Tbsp) baobab oil
- 4 g (2 tsp) beeswax (shaved & lightly packed)
- 5 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 2 drops jasmine sambac absolute OR 4 drops neroli essential oil
Instructions
- Measure beeswax and oils in a double boiler. Heat until the beeswax is fully melted. Mix well.
- Cool the mixture. If you have a thermometer, allow it to cool until it reaches 40C. If you do not have a thermometer, stir occasionally until the mixture turns cloudy / creamy and reaches the "trace" stage, indicated by lines forming behind your stirring utensil.
- Stir in the essential oils when stage 3 is ready. Pour into your container and label. Wipe double boiler pot with paper towel to save your dishwasher &/or pipes from the wax and oils.
NOTE: We provide options for both weighing ingredients and measuring by volume for your home convenience. However, weight is the most precise method for ensuring accuracy, as relying on teaspoons and cups may lead to noticeable differences in the recipe.
Directions for use
Apply about 1 tsp of balm onto the face and gently massage it into dry skin. Take a very warm (or hot) cloth and wipe off balm. Repeat the warm cloth step if your skin still feels oily. Splash face with cold water. Tone and moisturize as you normally would.
